Once operating, a Business with an annual turnover of $1,000,000 and the 40% gross profit ratio, would achieve an annual gross profit of $400,000. An owner operator with 2 staff full time would have expenses of about $100,000 on staff wages and about $127,000 on other expenses. This would give an annual net profit before taxes of $$173,000 to the owner. Unlike other food franchises the Licensee does not pay a 9% - 14% royalty on turnover to the Franchisor. The fee to the Licensor of Country Chicken & Pizza is only $1,000 per month. For a site with annual sales of $1,000,000 other franchises would charge between $90,000 and $140,000 as an annual turnover royalty payment. This includes a shop area of about 50 square metres fully equipped with all relevant equipment needed for the efficient storage, preparation, cooking, packing and selling of the branded Country Chick & Pizza products including Fryers, Ovens, Cool room, Freezers, Stainless Steel preparation tables, Burger processing system, Point of Sale and Security systems. The Licensor provides: 1) A completely fitted out and operational shop. 2) Full hands-on training to start. 3) Ongoing training during the course of the business. 4) Regular visits to ensure the Business is successful. 5) Country Chicken branded uniforms. 6) Country Chicken branded consumables, signage and packaging. 7) All equipment required for the efficient operation of the Country Chicken & Pizza business. Hours of operation are normally 9 am to 5.30 pm daily in Shopping Mall Food Courts, with one day weekly operating a little longer. In locations other than Shopping Centres, the outlets can be opened for longer periods. The Shopping Mall Food Courts are designed by the Mall operators to ensure the correct mix of food offers are being provided to customers. So each Food outlet in a Mall specialises in its own product range. Country Chicken & Pizza food products are Chicken pieces, Chicken Burgers, Pizza, Fish and Chips with some salads and other add-ons. During this period the buyer will receive a 50% share in the profits of the Business. 3) The Licensor will fully train the buyer on full business operation upon the buyer’s entry into the country and provide ongoing training and support. 4) If the buyer properly applies for Entrepreneur or Entrepreneur Plus categories residency, and does not receive it, the Licensor will either buy the business back for an agreed price or run the Business on the buyer’s behalf (as per 2 above) and supervise its sale on the open market on behalf of the buyer. 5) Once New Zealand Permanent Residency has been received, the buyer has the choice to: a) Continue to own and operate the Business. b) Sell the Business on the open market. c) Buy the business back for an agreed price or run the Business on the buyer’s behalf as per 2 above. The Hamilton Business opened on 15^th September 2011 and is operating. The Auckland Business is due to open soon. For both these businesses buyers will start earning 50% of the profits as soon as payment for the business is received. The Dunedin Business opens on 1^st March next year. The buyer of the Dunedin Business can secure their purchase now by paying a deposit and assisting in the payment of the fit-out. A shopping mall site in Wellington has been identified and can be secured once a buyer can commit to purchase the finished outlet. A buyer can buy one or more of the Business outlets.
